A foreword from the Editor

Editorial

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Customs Research and Application Journal (CRAJ): a peer-reviewed international journal of scholarly and applied work. With its broad scope bridging (yet not limited to) the work of border administration society or customs professionals, private sector related with customs, academic and researchers. The journal is dedicated for enhancing research in several areas, namely, border management, IT management system, human resources development, international trade, government public policy and regulation, logistic, port administration, maritime security and illicit trade, trade facilitation, excise duty, taxation, foreign exchange and fiscal policy.

The inaugural issue includes broad topics including customs’ best practices of trade facilitation, namely: customs advance ruling, free trade agreement, bonded logistic centre, and import relaxation for export purposes. This issue also emphasizes on excise duty and policies implemented in ASEAN, including revenue impact of new type of excised goods such as e-cigarette. In addition, current issue on WTO moratorium of duty imposed on digital goods is also discussed in a perspective on imposing import duty on digital goods in Indonesia.

Using the journal inauguration as an occasion, I would like to thank many people who created the opportunity for the journal to be born and who made it happen. Publication in CRAJ is totally free. Please submit your manuscript along with copyright form. Our current issue is always open access. The important dates as follows : Full paper March 20, 2020 and Published in May 15, 2020. The accepted journal will be rewarded Rp180K/page (info on flyer)
